Unit 1 of Book 3 opens with eighth notes first in 4/4 time, then in 2/4 time. Swing eighths are also presented in the first half of the book. In the second half of Book 3, five-finger patterns and triads in C Major, and F Major are presented, as well as their relative minors - A Minor, E Minor, and D Minor.
