Carol Klose has taken one of classical music's most familiar melodies and fashioned a masterpiece of her own, sure to be a recital favorite. Over a gently-rocking figure (quarter-note parallel-4ths) in the left-hand, the right-hand sings Brahms' 'Lullaby'. As the piece progresses, inner-voice sixteenth notes in the right-hand, colorful scale passages, and the rocking motif, now transformed into a tolling bell, are among the refined touches in this imaginative piece. Mary Cassatt's 'Mother and Her Child' graces the front cover.
