At the Westport Arts Center, I have seen firsthand the tremendous impact the arts can have on students' learning, self confidence, and personal creative expression. Whether it is hearing the sound of an eager young artist skipping through the gallery for an after-school art class, or introducing a 100-year-old to a new printmaking technique, I have witnessed how the arts bring joy, fulfillment, and happiness to people's lives.
