Among his well-known pieces are Espana or Estudiantina, and the then Prince of Wales and future King Edward VII was highly impressed by his waltz Manolo so he arranged to mek Waldteufel's music better known in Britain.The best known of his waltzes is The Skaters, written in 1882, which is now available as an arrangement for string quartet, as presented here by Simon Scheiwiller. This item includes the full score as well as each of the four individual parts. Accessible to progressing intermediate students, this is a great piece for solo ensemble, high-school string quartets, or quartet recitals - a definite crowd pleaser.
