Product Description
Charles-Marie Widor (1844-1937), most famous for his organ music and as organist of Saint Suplice in Paris, was professor of composition and organ at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique de Paris. Widor's Suite for Flute and Piano was composed for Paul Taffanel (1844-1908), a fellow professor at the conservatory who established the famous French School of flute playing. The four-movement work has become well-established in the standard flute repertoire and is one of Sir James Galway's favorites to play in recital. This edition features a newly edited and engraved flute part with practical and helpful performance notes by James Galway.
