Reportorium Orgelmusik 1150-1998 composed by Klaus Beckmann. Schott. 997 pages. Schott Music #ED9171. Published by Schott Music.
No other period in the history of organ music has offered as wide a range of compositions • both ancient and modern • in print as today. Though this amazing cornucopia also means that with the continuing growth of the repertoire and the flood of reprints, collected editions and new works the 'discipline organ music' has become vast and rather complex. There seems to be an urgent need for a sensibly structured register of the core repertoire to provide directions and a general overview of 9 centuries of organ music.
Our publication aims to list the essential repertoire of international organ music. The repertorium contains music for organ solo, organ duets and trios, organ and voice, plus organ and other instruments, together with biographical information on composers from 41 countries. Introduction in German, English and French. The works are always listed in the original language.
