What a great way to welcome summer with aNew Music Festival and YOURS Project Spring Concert. This Spring, join our students in a celebration of original compositions and the world premier of Spider Grass by composer Jenna Lyle. Also, our Hibbard Youth Orchestra welcomes the end of one successful year and launch into another! Their Spring Concert will be nothing short of spectacular. Come our and support!

Join us at the Pivot Arts Festival, an inaugural Multi-Arts Festival that is a celebration of innovative performances in our community. Our students will grace the stage of one of Uptown's historical theatres at 1:30P. Along with some of our Chicago gems, Mehran Flamenco Quartet and Mucca Pazza, it's an event that can't be missed!

The People's Music School has been chosen as a 2013 Honoree in an evening of "Rough Magic" presented by Theatre Oolbeck in their 25th Anniversary year. We are thrilled by this nomination and applaud the company's mission. Their one-night-only performances provide an opportunity to learn about and give to local, national and international organizations who are practicing daring, inspired, and creative innovation for good.

At this year's international meeting of the minds, TEDx Midwest, our People's Music School YOURS Project performed at both the Adult and Youth events, May 3-4th. Aside from the privilege of performing on the Harris stage, the event was also an awareness builder- Not only for the audience exposed to the El Sistema pedagogy, but for our students who were surrounded by forward thinkers in the industries of science, business, technology and art. A big thank you to the makers of TEDx and to all the open minds out there that continue to make programs like ours flourish.
