Les Fees du Rhin (Die Rheinnixen) (1864) (OEK) by Jacques Offenbach (1819-1880). Arranged by Jean-Christophe Keck. Boosey & Hawkes Scores/Books. Critical Edition. Opera. Vocal Score. 574 pages. Bote & Bock #M202530399. Published by Bote & Bock.
After many years of preparatory work by OEK editor-in-chief Jean-Christophe Keck, a coherent edition of Offenbach's grand romantic opera has eventually been successfully created. The sources were scattered in various libraries around the world, and some essential materials were actually in private collections. It is now possible to study and perform for the first time not only the German version, translated for the Vienna production by Alfred von Wolzogen, but also the original French version which Offenbach composed, and which returns the opera to its original musical and theatrical conception. The OEK edition is the World Premiere Publication of this opera, that was heard in its completeness for the first time at the Montpellier Festival of 2002.
