"This program connects three great composers - Mozart, Tchaikovsky and Stravinsky," said Music Director LARRY RACHLEFF. "We begin with music from Stravinsky's gorgeous neoclassic ballet The Fairy's Kiss. Stravinsky claims Tchaikovsky as a great influence, so we'll hear one of Tchaikovsky's favorite symphonies, his Fifth: a brooding, rich, patriotic, glorious work. Tchaikovsky had an impassioned love for the music of Mozart, so we've invited young American pianist Adam Golka to play Mozart's 24th Concerto. Adam is making big strides around the world, performing with all the great orchestras. I knew Adam when he was a little boy growing up in Houston and I've had such great joy watching his career develop. "

Construction detours are anticipated to be in effect until further notice. Please follow these temporary routes:
For our patrons who:
- Park in the Providence Place Mall Garage: As you walk out of the garage, please follow signs and Vets employees' directions, which will take you right to Francis Street, left on Francis to Avenue of the Arts, and left past the doors of the Renaissance Hotel to the entrance of the Vets.
- Classical Series ONLY: Take our free shuttle buses from the state lots on Smith Street: The buses will run as usual, however they will enter Avenue of the Arts from Francis Street instead of Park Street. A volunteer will be on each bus to answer any questions, and will alert you to where to find the buses after the concert.
- Need to drop someone off at the Vets door: Please enter Avenue of the Arts from Francis Street instead of from Park Street, and follow the directions of the security staff. We appreciate your patience and understanding while the Vets improves its facility. They have assured us that they will work diligently to minimize the disruption for our patrons. We know you will be thrilled with the new amenities this construction will bring to the hall.
A map is posted on our website to further assist this process.
Parking.....is free at both the State parking lot next to the Capitol building and the lot directly ACROSS Smith Street, or pay $2 for up to 5 hours at the Mall Parking Garage for both Classical concert and Open rehearsal.
