The late, renowned pedagogue Shirley Givens’ Adventures in Violinland series for beginning violinists is widely respected and used. Her husband, equally renowned concert cellist and teacher Harry Wimmer, and co-editor of these wonderful books, has added a new Legacy Series, putting to new use the original pages from Shirley Givens’ 24 titles. Book L 1, ”Song for All Seasons", is a compilation of songs found in these books, but arranged in seasonal order. They can be enjoyed by children no matter what violin method they are using.
