Now back in print, this book matches the work commissioned for Andrea Marcovicci by the Carnegie Hall Corporation in honor of Carnegie Halls Centennial Season. The premier was given in Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall on April 16, 1991. It is a song cycle in the American cabaret tradition, written in reaction to Schuberts Die Winterreise (a woman struggles to get over a devastating love affair). The songbook also features complete lyrics and a separate lyric section, notes on December Songs by Bernard Jacobson, and a bio of composer Maury Yeston.
Contents: December Snow * Where Are You Now * Please Let's Not Even Say Hello * When Your Love Is New * Bookseller in the Rain * My Grandmother's Love Letters * I Am Longing * I Had a Dream About You * By the River * What a Relief.
