Product Description
Giovanni Bottesini’s virtuosic Grande Allegro di Concerto ‘Alla Mendelssohn’ is a cornerstone for double bass solo repertoire. Bottesini, following closely in both form and character to the first movement of Mendelssohn’s violin concerto - hence the subtitle - adds his characteristic operatic flourishes to the material, sending the performer up and down the fingerboard. It is unknown when the piece was composed, however due to the work’s mature nature, the Grande Allegro di Concerto is most likely a later work from Bottesini.  This edition contains the solo part and the accompanying piano part. The double bass part and the piano part were edited by Thomas Martin.
