Among the music being featured will be: John Williams'
Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark and
Harry Potter; James Horner's
Apollo 13; Hans Zimmer's
Gladiator; Henry Mancini's
Pink Panther theme; Richard Wagner's Ride of the Valkyries and Camille Saint-Saëns' Danse Macabre.
Prior to the concert, Beacock Music will again create a musical
instrument "petting zoo" where children of all ages can try out musical
instruments from violins to trumpets under the expert supervision of
professional musicians.

It's finally here! Bring your lawn chair, blanket and a picnic basket. The Vancouver Symphony
begins its 36th "Season of Stars" with a rousing and family-friendly
free outdoor concert in downtown Vancouver's famed Esther Short Park
band shell tonight from 6-8 pm. The concert, featuring some of the most
memorable movie music ever, will be produced and hosted by All
Classical's Edmund Stone and the 70+ member orchestra will be conducted
by Paul Kim, the Oregon Symphony's Resident Conductor.
