Achron, Joseph - Hebrew Melody for Violin and Piano - edited by Leopold Auer - Fischer Edition.
Russian-Jewish composer Joseph Achron composed the staggeringly beautiful Hebrew Melody for Violin and Orchestra in 1911. Since then, it has been a favorite concert piece among violinists, of Jewish descent or otherwise. Its dark, meditative beginning rises to a frenzied cadenza, then fades away to echo the opening theme. This edition for violin with piano reduction is edited by Leopold Auer. Published by Carl Fischer.
