The English composer Cyril Scott (1879-1970) studied piano and composition at the Frankfurt Conservatoire. In 1898 he returned to Liverpool to work as a composer and teacher. He composed for every musical genre from opera and symphonies to chamber music, but always took a special interest in writing easy teaching material for children and young people.
