Janacek: Mahrische Tanze (Moravian Dances) for Violin and Piano

Czech composer Leos Janacek is known for incorporating traditional Czech folk melodies into his complex themes, much like other Czech composers were around the turn of the 20th century. Mahrische Tanze is a great example of this, as is to be expected with the title - Moravian Dances.' Originally for orchestra, this work was arranged for violin and piano just recently. Fifteen short pieces of varying lengths are included in this work, all of which are different and interesting rhythmically and melodically.
