Vytautas Laurusas (*1930) studied at the State Conservatoire of Music; since 1994 he has been a professor there.

Vocal works and chamber music form the core of his output as a composer. In his works he uses a whole series of different composition techniques such as free twelve-tone technique, aleatory elements, minimalism and more traditional forms.
